Lisa Covert is a fiber artist, dyer and bookbinder in Dallas, Texas. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Indiana State University. She continues to take classes and workshops to hone her skills.
Her work ranges from mixed fiber paintings to wall hangings to handmade books to sculptures. She is currently creating paintings and three-dimensional art in mixed media, encompassing wet and dry felting; various dyeing techniques, including shibori in indigo; found objects from nature; and strokes and textures made from a variety of fibers.
Her work is in private collections and has been included in juried shows hosted by the Craft Guild of Dallas, Dallas Area Fiber Artists and Plano Art Association.
She spent the first part of her career as an illustrator, designer and creative director in corporate communications, marketing and advertising in the corporate world, working at Hughes Aircraft, Bombardier, KPMG, and Centex Corporation to name a few, and in her own design business.
She served on the boards of the Dallas Area Fiber Artists and the Craft Guild of Dallas and as President of the Craft Guild from 2013 through 2014.
